Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how JLPT Battle (the “App”) handles user information. The developer of the App (the “Developer”) respects your privacy and handles information as described below.
- Our Basic Approach
The App requires no account and no login, and the Developer operates no server. Your study data is never sent to the Developer or to any third-party server. - Information We Do Not Collect
The Developer does not collect any of the following:
- Personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or any form of tracking
- Usage analytics
- Crash reports
The App shows no advertising and contains no third-party SDKs (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no ad or analytics SDKs of any kind).
- Information Stored on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device:
- Study data (answer history, results, weak-point notes, flashcards, etc.)
- Questions, images, and PDFs you import into the App
- Game results, ratings, in-app items, coins, and collections
The Developer cannot access any of this information.
- iCloud Backup and Sync
Records such as game results, ratings, and learning progress may be synced between your devices through iCloud Key-Value Storage linked to your own Apple ID. This data is stored only in your own iCloud space; the Developer cannot access it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud. If you do not want iCloud sync, you can turn off iCloud for the App in your device settings. - Game Center (Online Play and Leaderboards)
Online matches and rankings use Apple’s Game Center. Information handled in this process (your nickname, matchmaking information, and the scores/ratings submitted to leaderboards) is processed within Apple’s Game Center service and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Game Center sign-in is requested only when you use online features. - Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions. Each is requested only when you first use the related feature, and every other feature remains fully usable if you decline.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition: for hands-free voice commands (e.g., “Answer with 2”). Speech recognition uses iOS system features, and audio may be processed by Apple as part of that system service.
- Camera: to scan printed material and create questions with OCR.
- Photo Library: to attach images to questions and flashcards.
Captured images and recognized text are processed and stored on your device only and are never sent to the Developer.
- Children’s Privacy
The App does not collect personal information, so it can be used safely by users of any age. - Deleting Your Data
Deleting the App removes its data from your device. Data synced to iCloud can be deleted from your device’s iCloud settings for the App. - Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be revised when laws change or features are added. Material changes will be announced in the App or on its store page. - Contact
