Terms of Use

Effective date: June 22, 2026

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using JLPT Battle (the “App”). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Scope)
These Terms apply to all relationships between the developer of the App (the “Developer”) and users regarding use of the App.

Article 2 (Conditions of Use)

1. The App is free to use.
2. Online matches and rankings require signing in to Apple’s Game Center.
3. Any communication charges required to use the App are borne by the user.

Article 3 (Intellectual Property)

1. All copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the App and its built-in content (questions, explanations, games, artwork, and design) belong to the Developer or their rightful owners.
2. Rights to material that users import into the App (text, images, PDFs, etc.) belong to the user or the original rights holders. Users must not import or share third-party copyrighted material beyond the scope permitted by law (such as private use). The Developer accepts no responsibility for disputes arising from such use.

Article 4 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not:
(1) reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise analyze the App;
(2) manipulate game results, ratings, or rankings by unauthorized means;
(3) harass other users in online matches, use inappropriate nicknames, or engage in other abusive conduct;
(4) interfere with the operation of the App; or
(5) violate laws or public order and morals.

Article 5 (Online Features)

1. Online matches and rankings are provided through Apple’s Game Center.
2. Online features may be unavailable due to network conditions, the status of Apple’s services, or other circumstances.
3. The Developer does not guarantee the quality or continuity of online features.

Article 6 (Disclaimers)

1. The App is intended to support Japanese-language learning. The Developer does not guarantee learning outcomes or success in any examination.
2. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the built-in content, the Developer does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.
3. The Developer is not responsible for loss of data caused by device failure, deletion of the App, iCloud outages, or similar events.
4. Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, the Developer is not liable for damages arising from use of the App.

Article 7 (Trademarks)
JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) is administered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES). The App is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by these organizations.

Article 8 (Changes to or Termination of the Service)
The Developer may change, add to, remove, or discontinue features of the App, or terminate the App, without prior notice. The Developer is not liable for any damages resulting from such changes.

Article 9 (Changes to These Terms)
The Developer may amend these Terms when necessary. Amended Terms take effect when posted in the App or on its store page.

Article 10 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over the Developer’s location in the first instance.
